  • What do I need to wear?

    Come as you are.

    It’s recommended to wear comfortable clothing to move in for assessment and post session homework.

    For physiotherapy, please wear comfortable athletic wear.

  • What services are covered by my extended health care plan?

    Most of the services in our multidisciplinary wellness centre is covered by extended health care providers. Massage therapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, psychotherapy, naturopathy, and osteopathy are some of the services often covered by health benefits. It’s best to review with your insurance provider to see what is covered.

  • Will my extended health care plan cover the costs of massage therapy?

    Massage therapy is a recognised health care treatment, most extended plans cover massage therapy and many offer direct billing. It’s best to check with your insurance provider before your appointment to see how much is covered and whether you require a doctor’s note in advance for reimbursement purposes.

  • What is massage therapy?

    Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints.

  • What is physiotherapy?

    Physiotherapy is treatment to restore, maintain, and make the most of a patient’s mobility, function, and well-being. Physiotherapy helps through physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health and fitness. Physiotherapists get you involved in your own recovery.

  • What is psychotherapy?

    Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing.

  • What is acupuncture and TCM?

    Acupuncture is the insertion of thin, metal needles to stimulate specific points of the body that reach meridians. These stimulation points are called acupuncture points or acupoints. Traditional Chinese medicine holds that there are 365 commonly used acupuncture points on 20 meridians on the human body.

    Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was originated in ancient China and has a history of over two thousand years. Influenced by ancient Chinese philosophy, culture, and science and technology, Chinese medicine uses the theory of Yin and Yang and the theory of Wu Xing to explain the mechanism of balancing the function of the body.

  • What if I don't like needles and want to try acupuncture?

    Not to worry, acupuncture uses the body’s meridian line system to release tension. If you do not want the acupuncturist to use needs, he/she is able to use acupressure. Using the same system but without the needles to stimulate specific points in the body to provide release in the body.
